Terry Thompson is originally from Decatur Arkansas. He committed his life to Jesus at age nine. He has been a member of what is now Crossgate Church since 1993. He began serving as an elder in 2011.

After graduating from the University of Arkansas, Terry was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University. After 24 years of service as an Air Force pilot and commander, he retired, and moved to Hot Springs. Two years later, he was called to serve the church that is now Crossgate as Minister of Education and subsequently Executive Pastor. In 2004, he retired from fulltime service on the church staff and was soon chosen as a trustee of Crossgate. Upon adoption of the Crossgate Church Charter in 2010, which included the establishment of plural leadership by elders, he was among the first to be nominated and affirmed by the church. He also ministers to the Crossgate family as a life group leader and Bible teacher, a D-group leader, a member of the Men’s Ministry, and a Prayer Partner Network team leader.

Terry likes to write and has written three books including a novel. He also maintains a personal website with a weekly blog post.
