“View Of A Call Sunday”

On Sunday, June 8th, at 9:30 am, we will have a “In View of a Call” Service. No LifeGroups, Students, or Crossgate Kid ministries will be meeting on campus this Sunday morning. Only our Preschool Ministry, (Birth – PreK) will be open during the 9:30 am service. The candidate will preach during our single service, after which members will participate in an affirmation vote.

Here is the latest communication from our Lead Pastor Search Team:

“After nine months of extensive prayer, candidate evaluations, meetings, and interviews, your Lead Pastor Search Team has been prayerfully led to the man we unanimously believe God has chosen for Crossgate Church.

This candidate has been our top choice since he responded to the Search Team’s questionnaire and video request, and he has remained so throughout the evaluation process. Last month, he and his wife spent two days at Crossgate, during which they were interviewed by the Search Team, the Elders, the Pastors, and the support staff. These meetings—along with ongoing communication, interaction, feedback, prayer, and affirmation—have led the Search Team to recommend that he be considered as the next Lead Pastor of Crossgate Church.

This candidate has been in church ministry for 30 years and has served the last ten as Lead Pastor of a large church in Texas. He comes highly recommended by ministry leaders across the country and has impeccable references. Under his leadership, his current church has grown from 70 to 1,400 members and consists primarily of young families. He also serves as a respected leader within his local community.

The Lead Pastor Search Team has invited him and his family to Crossgate for an “In View of a Call” weekend and an affirmation vote on Sunday, June 8. A positive vote from our church family will serve as final confirmation that God is calling him to Crossgate. Once affirmed, the candidate will inform his current church and submit his resignation. For this reason, we cannot release his name until the weekend of June 7–8. We ask that our church body be sensitive to this and respectful of the candidate and his family’s wishes.

If Crossgate affirms this candidate, he will be leaving a church where he is well-loved and deeply content. His only reason for leaving is his strong belief that God is calling him to Crossgate. He also believes that he has accomplished all that God called him to do at his current church and is stepping out in faith as the Lord leads.”

Saturday, June 7

“Coffee with the Candidate & Family” Meet and Greet – 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Search Team will release information about the candidate and his family at that time. We encourage every member to stop by at any point during the event to meet and speak directly with the candidate, his wife, and their children.

Sunday, June 8

“In View of a Call” Service – 9:30 a.m. The candidate will preach during our single service, after which members will participate in an affirmation vote.
