Stand Sunday
November 10, 2019 9:00am - 12:45pm | Crossgate Campus
On Sunday, November 10, we will come together with churches around the world for “Stand Sunday”. On this day, Christians come together to stand for the children and families of foster care/adoption. In November, 2004, Bishop Aaron Blake, a pastor and foster/adoptive father, stood before his congregation and asked one question, “Who will stand with me to defend, care and support abused, abandoned and neglected children in our community?” One by one his congregation began to stand and say “Pastor…I will.” As a result of that day, this church and surrounding community have cared for and adopted hundreds of children in foster care over the last 12 years. In fact, their county actually has more than enough foster families to meet the need there.
We are excited that we will be participating in “Stand Sunday” this year. With our Embrace 1:27 ministry, we are planning a special service for Sunday, November 10th and want to honor the foster and adoptive families of Crossgate. If you would like to participate, we ask that you send us a picture of your family and let us know you will be in one of our services on Sunday, November 10. Please send this information to Tula at: [email protected] by October 28. We are also inviting any foster/adoptive families to join us in the Crossgate gym following the 10:30 am service on November 10 for a brief time of fellowship. We would love to get to know you more and to begin to connect you to other foster/adoptive families in our church family.
