Originally from Mountain Home, Arkansas Pastor Matthew grew up on a small farm where his family raised Purebred Shorthorn Cattle and Australian Shepherds. His father and grandfather were both pastors and he spent a lot of time in the church.
In High School he had a variety of interests that have carried on to adulthood – he was a State FFA Officer, was involved in Student Government, and participated in every theatrical production that he could. Upon graduating High School, he attended Southern Arkansas University where he and his wife, Kaylee, met while both studying Theatre. During the summers he served at a Christian Summer Day Camp in various positions.
He moved to Fort Worth, Texas in the fall of 2013 to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Master of Arts in Christian Education with an emphasis in Childhood Education. While there he served at Travis Avenue Baptist Church as the Preschool Associate, and then at Hulen Street Church as the Grade School Minister.
During his free time Pastor Matthew enjoys spending time kayaking, acting, playing with his two dogs (Jersey and Apache), board games, and being outside with his wife.
Pastor Matthew’s life verse is Isaiah 40:31, “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
