Pastor Bobby, born and raised in Little Rock, began attending church around the age of four. Later, at the age of nine, he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Throughout grades 7-12, he had the appearance of a Christian, but inside knew he was only playing the church game.
His drive in life was to go to medical school, and become a surgeon. During his last semester of high school, he also enrolled in and completed EMT school at UAMS, and is still licensed in Arkansas as an EMT. Being a college sophomore, studying pre-medicine, he attended a church camp as an adult volunteer with the student ministry of his church. It was through the discipleship of his Youth Pastor and the camp experience, that the Lord opened his eyes seeing what God had been working in him for several years—the calling to be authentic as a Christ-follower.
As time passed, he also realized that God was calling him to become a Student Pastor in the local church. He transferred to Ouachita Baptist University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies. As an OBU student, he served churches in Central Arkansas as a part-time Student Pastor. After graduation, he worked at MEMS Ambulance in Little Rock before joining the staff as the Student Pastor in Camden, AR.
Currently, in ministry for 18 years, Pastor Bobby came to Crossgate Church from Mt Vernon Baptist Church (West Monroe, LA), where he served for over 6 years as the Student Pastor. He has an older brother, 1 niece, and 5 nephews who live in Benton. Bobby loves going to the lake, hunting, good food, and spending time with family and friends. He is excited to be back in Central Arkansas.
Pastor Bobby’s life verse is Acts 20:24, “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.”
